Here's a link to a similar note. This note is in Fine condition and certified, so please consider that when pricing. I would consider yours G/VG due to all of the creasing and centering issues. I will try to find a link to a note in that condition so therefore we can get an accurate value assessment. I will also find a link for paper money grading that I have saved, this will give you an idea of the condition of the notes. I am interested in the note and I will PM you with more details.

I have the 5th edition of "National Bank Notes" by Don Kelly (2006). Here is a little background info on the City National Bank of Knoxville:

    Chartered: 1/19/88
    Receivership: 3/9/32
    Total issue: $11,803,860
    Out at close: $400,000
    Large out at close: $53,290

This note was printed in sheets of (4) $10 bills, with serial numbers 55,001 thru 213,216, although the serial number was not printed on those from 55,001 thru 57,000.

Value shown in the catalog is $250. This value is for a note in fine condition, and the author describes the assignment of values as conservative figures at which bargaining can begin.

The current census shown in the catalog indicates that there are 62 large and 25 small notes known to exist from this bank, but the author encourages owners to contact him to update the census. Let me know if you would like contact info, and I will PM it to you.

As an additional note, I took a look at the note in the link, and noticed right away that note was issued by a completely different bank, as well as being from a different state (Illinois). The note in the link is a scarcer one than the OP's, with only 12 large and 10 small notes in the census for that bank, and was assigned a value of $500, just for one point of comparison as to how values may have changed since my reference's publication.

Regardless of what that seller is pricing his note at, the $10 Large National was the most populous of all the large notes for that charter. Liddell and Litt, who publish a National Currency analysis with values, price it at $100 in VG or $200 in VF. Even at AU, the note would be only worth $350. I know what I would value it at but I'll let you two work out your own deal. I'm very hard on grading so you would probably not agree anyway.
