ok guys and girls, i'm having trouble with this one.
well, for one i learned the obverse is the convex, not concave side....i had that all backwards an it caused some confusion. the seller has it listed as a "14th century coin", but i'm thinking it's a 12th century manuel I comnenus...but wouldn't bet much on it. any ideas?

also, how do you measure the diameter of a trachy? straight across or "with the curve" of the coin?
    it's 3.3 g

    Hey Chris great pickup!

I measure these cup shaped coins "without the curve" from plane to plane, between the widest points .

Ski (echizento) is the "local" expert on the trachies. They "look" similar to Manual I coins I have. This would fit the 12th century theory.
