Cool addition. My only example. Tacitus (275-276 AD) Silvered Antoninianus O: IMP C M CL TACITVS AVG Radiate, draped and cuirassed bust right. R: SECVRIT PERP Securitas standing left, leaning on column. Ticinum mint 4.42g 22mm RCV #11812, Cohen #131, RIC V (1) 163
Great coin TJC ... oh, and awesome price!! => it's always nice to hear from you and see your stuff!!
Both very nce. As an aside, I sort of enjoy those partially silvered Antoniniani. The superficial and delicate silver wash that remains is, for me, like some of the original red that is evident on older copper coins: Both coins by Tacitus are great pieces of history of a non-military emperor, which was rare during the Third Century Crisis. I think he was also the last emperor chosen by the senate, since all of the later emperors rose to power out of the military ranks or through dynastic succession. guy
Very nice economical pick up TJ. I just picked up a silver Antoninianus of Gallienus which I think is kinda rare. I'll post it on it's own thread. Once again, nice Antoninianus
Steve, thanks for checking out my thread Bart, nice Britania; I dig 1700's copper! Maridvnvm, very nice Tacitus!!! Chris, good see ya! Bing, if you say that I got an "economical" deal then I am very happy!!!
