Hello All, I recently acquired this coin and am looking for some info on it. It's a 1928 Italian Lira R, and I was told that it's a key date. My question is, is it in fact a key date? And if so, why? Any help is really appreciated. :hail: Thanks.
It has a lower mintage than 1922, 1923 & 1924 but still over 19 million (compared to 1927 having 100 mintage), so I wouldn't think it would be considered a key date. check out the NGC site http://www.ngccoin.com/poplookup/WorldCoinPrices.aspx?category=30180&worldcoinid=89995 Hope that helps!!
It's a common date. In Italy, in this grade the price could be € 4-5 ($5-7). If the number "4" on the photo is the price you paid ($4) it's a good price, but it doesn't has a more value.
