I've been going through some of my nicer, recent Lincoln Mems and this one caught my eye. I'm new to errors so I'll post the pics below but it doesn't look like the MD'ing that my eyes are used to. Depending on the replies here, I may want to get this attributed? Any who... I'd like to call the obverse a 1989D-1DO-003? and the reverse very similar to (but not identical to) 1898D-1DR-007? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! And thanks in advance! Wes
reverse forgot the reverse pics... and now that I look at them obverse pics again, even the MM has (what I perceive to be) slight doubling to the SE?
Plating issues on both the obverse and reverse if the coin. Not a doubled die unfortunately. Keep in mind that you can't "mix and match" your varieties so to speak. If it was an obverse/reverse doubled die, it would be noted as such on coppercoins.com. Keep up the hunt!
Ah, ok... I figured it couldn't be both of the exact varieties i mentioned, but a double doubled die isn't impossible, right? Just very improbable. But wouldn't that be a hoot? I suppose one could argue that it is doubled on one side and has plating issues on the opposite though. If I could choose one feature that deserves a second chance I would say the motto IGWT, especially on GOD. The D even has a nice notch! haha but thanks for the quick reply non cents.
