Have read a lot about the upcoming presidential coins. I am curious if many have given consideration to the Martha washington $10 24k gold coin that is coming out.

Seems to me that this could be a tremendously overlooked coin especially if it is limited to a rather small mintage, as I have read it will be. Everyone knows who martha washington is but other than a few of the modern presidents, I have no idea of the top of my head who most of the other first ladies are.

I don't care how many of them will be made. The subject of the series does not excite me in the least. As for me, I will not be buying any first lady coins.

Like you, I would have to guess at most of the other names... Mrs. Adams, Mrs. Lincoln, Mrs. Garfield, Mrs. Polk, Mrs... you get the idea. ;) :p

Since they are gold coins, and that you'll need to buy over 40 of them at a rate of 4 per year just for a complete run (ditto if you want both proof and uncirculated), I'm going guess that the cost alone is going to discourage people from trying to collect this series of coins. A limited, small mintage is likely for most of the first lady coins.

old----of course I don't like either photo---but why would the Mint want to make a coin that some people like and think that its pretty....If the mint thought about it they would put mug shots of the FBI top 10 most wanted---that would go over BIG and if you also had a 1-800 number on it to call in a hot tip I think that would be cool.

LOL, judging by the first few responses, I'm now 100% confident the Mint has come up with another great series. :desk:

I was having a nightmare last night about the old elanor roosevelt picture
posted by MikjoO. When i finally got back to sleep I had another nightmare about hillary clinton gettting elected president and that one day in the future may have a gold ,bronze and silver coin of both hillary and bill.

talking about having a ruff night. I think bills girlfriend should get some consideration if goes that long

Use to think some of these coins might be nice but they kind of scare me now.

If you can't afford the gold you can always get them in Bronze.

BRONZE MEDALS.--The Secretary may strike and sell
bronze medals that bear the likeness of the bullion coins author-
ized under this subsection, at a price, size, and weight, and
with such inscriptions, as the Secretary determines to be appro-
    priate.

    I'll pass on both.
