Hey here ya go this is a nice george washington half.. this is a great coin very very common so I'm going to do this experiment .. I'm going to place this in my car on the dash board over a 2 week or longer period. To see what colors it turns due to sun heat or cold and such , I will photo it every day if possible
as am I View attachment 263690 I look forward to thee array of colors and tones it takes I'm sure it will be cool
Are you going to keep it in that government plastic? I don't know how that will do against 140 degree dashboard heat. Maybe take it out and put it on some cardboard or something...
I cant wait to see it either. I wonder if it'll be more or less colorful than if it was placed in an envelope for the same time period.
can any of you link me to pictures of coins that have been toned in either of these processes? i am really interested to see how purposefully toning a coin varies from natural toning
glass would make it hotter the plastic wont melt but it will start to goin soft ect. releasing chemicals on to the coin. which may make cooler colors iv seen cds melt on dashboards before so it will get pretty hot and warped
