    Hello all,

I recently found this penny. It's a a 1983 D that has some doubling of his forehead, nose, philtrim, chin, beard, and eyes. I don't have a very good camera so these picture are the best I could do. I tried using Photoshop with contrast to help bring out the features. From what I've read, this is machine doubling?

I think one of the problems is my camera's resolution is not high enough. Another is that the lighting is very hard to get right. All these problems are magnified when the coin's picture is enlarged and the details blend into one another. Ah well, I hope to get a better camera sometime in the future.

Any information that fellow members can enlighten me on is appreciated very much.

    Thanks again

Is is mechanical doubling...very common and not really worth a premium.
    Keep up the hunt!

I have to agree . From what I see is a flat shelf like image from the main image with no real depth. Nice find tho keep searching the DDO/DDR are out there to be discoverd and found.

    Good Luck;:hail:

Thank you again non_cents and doubledieking18 for all your help, advice, and giving hope to us novices. Today was a pretty good day. I only looked through 150 pennies (3 rolls) and found some older pennies with some double looking images. I will listen to non_cents' advice and post it in another post. Thanks again everyone, I appreciate all your help.
