I'll just start this thread to be a general identification help thread for anyone that may need it. This way there wont be hundreds of "what is this" threads. Hope it helps others as i know it definately will for me.

I dont think there's already one of these but if there is, just link it and i'll delete this one.

People, especially new members that signed up just to find out what their coin is, are inclined to start their own thread to ask their question.

    edit

If someone has a US coin they cannot identify they should post their question on the US Coins forum rather than here on the World & Ancient Coins forum.

The Saudi Arabian one is 4 girsh (not sure I spelled that right.
The other one is from the Isle of Man. Seems to be some sort of model coin.

It's 1956. And the denomination is ghirsh.

Also, from experience, most people only look at the first few posts in a thread, and only continue if it is a topic that really interests them. So if you post a really interesting coin and it appears on page 50 of a long thread filled with more mundane stuff, chances are very few people will see it.

The symbolism and style are all Isle of Man, but no coin of this sort was made in 1901. I suspect a modern "fantasy" coin from Pobjoy or Westminster mint.

Those threads just get too long. The "Newest foreign acquisition" (with "foreign" misspelled in the headline for all eternity) thread is 210 pages long. I haven't looked at that in months, so whatever is posted in there is totally overlooked by me and probably many other people.
