I am new to this and looking for some help. I came across 3 rolls of 1973 D Lincoln cents. Still in original wrapper from Fed. Reserve. The outside coins are a little off color but I am assuming the inside ones are perfect. I had checked on PCGS.com and the value they give just seemed a little high. Anyone with an guess as to what these would be worth? Thanks
In high grade these are worth quite a bit but the typical BU roll will not contain any high grade coins. The '73-D actually comes pretty nice so a couple gems aren't too unlikely. This is one of the more common post 1964 rolls so it won't bring much premium generally.
Mike: You have to realize that the prices that you saw on PCGS's site are for slabbed coins, that have been graded by them. Not normal rolled pieces. Pick up a copy of Coin World's trends for more normal prices. Good luck. Frank
