The first thing I would do different, is that I would not have got out of collecting as a kid. Next is I would have collected the nicest examples I could, instead of just filling holes. It is nice getting all the dates and mintmarks, but pristine old coins are just amazing to look at.especially the seated coins. I do like the history that goes along with circulated coins too, But I wish I had more AU/MS coins.

I wish I had found Cointalk right as I started collecting, instead of a year later. :) In hindsight, should have bought specialized and focused educational resources for the series I wanted to collect, instead of the basic Redbook, and a few 'Coin Collecting for Dummies' type books. Also, I should have looked at as many coins as I could have before buying until I was comfortable with my grading skills. Probably wouldn't have ended up with cleaned, scrubbed, and holed coins wondering, "Why the he!! did I ever buy this?"
