A few of my latest bargain buys
This is a cool little UNC set with the 1968 5 & 10 new pences in which is odd since it wasn't until 1971 that decimalisation happened, apparently they became a shilling and a florin then changed causing confusion.

A nice old 50p style Papua New Guinea coin the only difference to the old 50's is it has a rather odd side !

There are some great coins here. I really like Mexican coins and here are a few medals which I'm trying to learn more about.

Lovely coin. It was issued by the Order of Malta, not the Republic of Malta.

 I thought the Order of Malta with the cross (pictured on the coin) was in the Republic of Malta???

What makes the "Order of Malta" issue even more complicated is that, apart from the Republic of Malta (in, you guessed it, Malta) and the Order of Malta (SMOM) in Rome, there are several other issuers that have similar names. And I think (as in: not sure) that your piece was issued by one of those "imposters". Then again, the design is nice, so if you did not pay too much, sure, keep it. :)

I paid a little over $30 US. The ANACS slab simply says Malta which is what threw me off. I will have to study this more. Thank you all for your input!

A fun purchase is always a good purchase. Nonetheless, you chose well!
