5oz ATB GONE from Mint Products?

Discussion in 'Coin Chat' started by 1066merlin1066, May 15, 2013.

  1. I have been watching the price on a 5oz Gettysburg over the past few days. As many here know silver has been dropping like a rock. Their prices are tied directly to the current silver prices so the price was dropping pretty quickly over the past couple of days. They still have the higher cost 5ozrs but ALL of the other ones are GONE as of now. They were at $152 and change I think it was this AM. Is it possable that they pulled the inventory because they were about to lose their shirts on them? or Did everybody buy them up, (which I find hard to believe). I was thinking about picking one up at $150, to late

Are you looking for the bullion or the collector edition?

  5. To be honest I didn't know there was a difference! When these were being released I was completely out of the loop and on vacation from collecting. Just gearing back up now. I lived in Gettysburg for a few years and just LOVED the history. I would just really like to have one to add to my collection now. ANY info you could give me would be GREAT!

Well, I collect the collector version (P mint mark, matte finish, and lower mintage than the bullion). In your other thread, TC quoted the issue price for the collector version, which is still what it's going for or more on eBay. The collector versions of all of the 5oz'ers appear to be holding their value or increasing, even with falling PoS. The Gettysburg bullion's mintage is 126,700 - the collector version is 24,625.

  7. Perfect, THANK YOU! Like I said I had no clue. Do you know of any sites that have them other than ebay?

I haven't check for any lately, although many have pulled their bullion or don't have the collector version. Maybe someone will chime in with a suggestion.

I don't know if you're looking for only the Gettysburg, but the 2013 White Mountain goes on sale tomorrow at the mint for the new low issue price of $179.95.

  9. Thats gonna be a nice one! Thanks for the heads up on that. As for Gettysburg, all I have been able to find are bullion. I'll keep looking though. $250 is a little spendy for me at the moment so I may just have to go with bullion anyway. Thank You so VERY much for all the info, I REALLY appreciate it!!!
