I searched a box of halves this week and found the following: 1972 D Missing FG: View attachment Still001.bmp Also found two Bicentennial coins that look off center struck, any thoughts?: View attachment Still005.bmp View attachment Still006.bmp Finally, I have no idea what this is. Can someone let me know?: View attachment Still008.bmp Thanks Joe
can't really see on the bicentennials. the way it was it explained to me is if one side is off center, and the other side is not then it is a misaligned die. both sides need to have it to be considered off center. someone can correct if need be
Doesn't appear to be a No FG coin but more of a grease filled die. The 1972-D is NOT a grease filled die but a die where the FG has been abraded away. They are quite scarce and can be qquite expensive. Grease filled dies, on the other hand, are a dime a dozen.
