I have read here of individuals finding great deals at yard sales simply just asking if they have any coins. Out of the 30 or so I have been to I have struck out each time. I checked Craigslist this morning and found one listing 'coins' so I headed over. What I was able to pick up was a book of dimes for $30 (26 total silver dimes) and a 2010 presidential $1 proof set for $5. Normally if I do see any coins it is a modern proof set with a $25 price tag. Anyone else finding any good deals? roseybook.jpg

    None here.

    What years were the dimes?

Mercs: 1942 (x2), 1940, 1941, 1943, 1944, 1945 and Roseys: 1946-2012. I have not checked any mint marks, but it gives me a complete date collection (Minus 2013). I will probably just add this to the collection that the young one will one day acquire and sell for pack of Marlboros :)

I just got back from a yard sale listing that had what appeared to be an AU or better 1921 Peace dollar for $85...got there and within 1 second knew it was fake. Looked like a proof coin, was about 5 grams too light. Way, way, WAY fake. Very disappointed...of course, probably not as disappointed as the owner.
