Gold diameter is only 16.5mm so it is smaller but weighs more at 3.11g

The PCGS Registry has an album feature. Those are screen captures of 4 pages from my 1934-45 Mercury short set.

Nice! All I need are (of course) the 1916-D, and also the 1921-D, and strangely enough, the 1927-D which is a common coin. I picked up the 1921-P just this past weekend.

17.9 mm-16.5 mm = 1.4mm yes it will fit as I will house it in a kointain before incerting in the boards which will snug it in place.

No I thought they were all Mercury. Does a Barber mean that it is worth a bunch of money in the bad shape its in. Lol why r they called Barbers?

Why? These coins were designed by United States Mint chief engraver Charles Barber and the dimes were minted from 1892 to 1916.

The highest graded coin that I have is a 1942 D Mercury - NGC MS 67 FB with a CAC green beaner. This type vaulted me into coin collecting at a very young age and remains one of my favorite designs. Despite that, somehow I never really collected the series and I only have 2 or 3 nice specimens. I appear to have inherited many circulated samples from relatives over the years, which now rest in rolls.
