So I finally decided to get started with the lincolns. But I have so many in my bucket that don't know where to start, what I am looking for? (other than rare dates, DD and WAM) are dark Lincolns better than shinny ones? Wood Vs toning? Which ones have more value? (I know that whatever I like is the way to go, but what is the standard of a perfect 19?? Lincoln, should it be dark or shinny or toned or wood grain? I may do one of each, but if I ever want to submit one for grading, should it be the dark 1950, or the shinny one or the tone? Anyhow, any help will be appreciated.

The only "perfect" coin is full bright red. Generally speaking, the red coins command the highest prices. Although some brightly colored coins will go for more that a red at a low to medium grade, the highest grades will always be full red. Any color other than that red is generally considered a negative in grading.
