One of the easiest diagnostics to quickly rule SMS out is the rims. SMS Cents will have sharp, almost proof-like rims.
You may have a 1964 cent from a proof set. Here is an example. The easiest way for me to tell the differance is that the field has more of a smooth mirrored finish look than regular business strike examples show. 1964 SMS sets are extremely rare.
