As you may have noticed I have been posting very little here recently. I am however still around and reading almost daily. I have decided I'm not going to let a few Rude SOBs ruin my fun anymore. That being the case I as your opinions on my most recent addition. An 1854 Type 2 G$1. It has a small solder spot on the bottom of the reverse that does not really show in these pics but I think I did very well for only $150 but I figured I'd get some other opinions (ok and take the chance to brag a little too been after a nice cheap t2 for awhile now lol)
I would have bought at that price as well, the only type 2 I've been able to afford was a holed one i bought at melt. I am a sucker for the gold dollars, nice pull.
Got lucky on this, getting it from a jeweler I know in RI, my brother told him I was looking for one. This one was a pendant at one time but this is a case of I don't care if it was jewelry or cleaned. As has been said even holed ones in decent shape can be hard to come by
