I'm talking about buyers or sellers, not from eBay, Inc. Here's one I got today regarding my statement "I ship within 24 hours of cleared payment so you should receive your coin quickly barring Sundays, holidays, and postal service errors." The random buyer wrote: "POSTAL ERRORS? WHY NOT JUST ADMIT THAT NO ONE'S PERFECT, INCLUDING YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" I'm guessing he's a postal worker...
Some clown from CT who told me he would sell me his coins for less as a private transaction. What a sucker, lol.
Mine was back in 2001 or 2002. I had bought a case of Upper Deck Legendary Cuts on eBay that was a pre-sale, about 45 days before release. I got an e-mail(week of shipment) saying that the account had been closed and he was filing for bankruptcy and if I wanted to try and get my money back there was his lawyers information. I ended up getting back almost $300 of the $1000 I paid.... never want to see another e-mail like that!
I currently have a rather obscure Doubled Die Obverse Kennedy half up for sale on eBay for around $250. I got a note from a guy asking (this is the whole message): "What do you mean by doubleling[sic]?" Um, if you don't know what a doubled die is, maybe you should move on.... :goofer: :desk:
I have an auction up for a 2013 White Mountain Park Quarter. Lady emails me asking "What is this from P or D?" Aside from the fact that I mentioned it in the item details...
Maybe he was a newbie to coin collecting & needed information regarding your item for sale. I sure hope you explained what a double die means to them. All collectors start somewhere, & maybe his question to you was his start?
It's not incredibly weird, but I had a person email me twice two days apart complaining that I had not left them feedback for a coin they bought from me, but in fact I left feedback three weeks earlier and that was clearly visible. I responded both times telling them I already left feedback and for now they seem to have accepted it, but who knows if they'll yell at me again?
I once busted an eBay seller for shill bidding his own auctions with two accounts (eBay agreed with me). An entire year goes by, and I get this message: Hi,remember me? Don't make a foul of you and business is business, you're not an angel... it's not Paul who say that, it's is wife... Don't be jealous, it's not sane... I never replied, but it did leave me scratching my head for a while...
Don't ship it for 2 weeks and when he asks where his coin is, tell him it must have gotten lost in the mail.
I got one today about a 1909 Cent in an NGC holder asking me if the coin was Force toned. Wasn't sure if he meant like Star Wars, or AT so I just responded politely with "NGC felt it was market acceptable".
I would block their silly arse away from bidding on my stuff. That's what I'd do. And if they bought something already I'd send it to them and right away block them. Ebay has more nuts than a peanut farm and you gotta practice preventative blocking any time you have a doubt. That's what I do.
I have eleven thousand all positive feedback, buyer got a coin emailed me-I hear that there are a lot of crooks on ebay, not happy to part with my money, how do we get around that ?----my reply-I have never come across a crook on ebay ,so I will post the coin and you can pay when you get it---which he did
