1809 9/6 C-5 Half Cent... Bad planchet or PMD?

    Was wondering if the two cracks on the bottom of the obverse were caused prior to the minting of the coin or if it is PMD. I thought it was just a bad planchet but wanted to get some opinions.

    What grade would you give this coin?

    PMD- two little cuts. I would say upper end VF-details coin not quite sure it would make XF details. Just my humble opinion.

    yep...looks like PMD.

    Btw...did you have ketchup on your fingers the last time you handle the coin?

    I like it! VF35 details. I think a TPG would let the marks slide, but would penalize it for the cleaning/retoning, IMO. Really nice find though and a neat variety!
