    dansco, whitman, warman, harris, littleton.
    library of coins, intercept shield.

all these different coin folders to choose from! each with a seemingly different philosophy on how the various coin series should be grouped by year, and how many varieties are essential to the collection. some brands are new and aren't trusted by the pros for quality, and some have been around for as long as the coins they contain. i'm not familiar with all the different brands or their advantages over the others. so, i'm offering all of you the opportunity to help educate me and all the other new-mismatists on coin book selection.

what is your favorite? your least favorite? why? if you have any brands you'd like to add to the conversation, please post them up as well.

Dansco Albums are the top of the line, but are the most expensive. The rest are similar, but the whitman albums I buyed are crap. One coin holder fits too big, one too small. Its a nightmare.. Pick anything but a whitman folder.

No problem, don't we all love the Dansco's!

the reason i bring this up is because i was picking up albums on amazon, and i decided to start with a couple warman's based on the price and overall ratings. i have seen conversations about "brand x is great, brand y is garbage." i figured i would judge the cheap-o warmans for myself, so that i might actually be able to add to those conversations in the future!

I have a large mix of Dansco and Whitman bookshelf albums. I do have one intercept shield that I use for ASE's.

are there still new "library of coins" albums available for purchase? it looks like the current offerings are all used or at least several years old.

The last Library of Coins I saw for sale as a brand new album sold for over $100, I think it was a Lincoln cents album.

I use Dansco but LOVE Library of Coins when I can find them at auctions and such. I got a gorgeous LoC Morgan book last year that half filled and was lucky to get it for a steal.
