Well, SNG ANS 6 arrived today, and it's a lot bigger than I thought it was going to be. Holy tomes, batman! I've found a few of my Nabataeans already.

I also ordered this. Should make for some nice, light bedtime reading. 230 volumes works out to thirteen cents a book!

I'll put up a review after I've had a chance to peruse it. It's basically a collection of older volumes - books from the 19th and early 20th centuries, so it doesn't substitute for any more modern research, but it looks like it will definitely keep me busy for a while.

Yeah, my wife said I've got to get a fancier bookshelf for it - mahogany, with carved gargoyles and such.

Everything on the disc is available for free online. You bought a fancy box.

Not just. I knew I could probably find all those titles as free downloads, but it would have taken a while and ended up being a chore. The disc was not expensive in the least, and saves me some time and trouble - sort of like going to the convenience store.

Fancy box and the time saved from searching and downloading them one by one. ;)

So long as it was an informed decision, I can't fault it. :)

Might as well get your "fancy bookshelf" if you are going to think about buying other SNG titles. All of the ANS titles are that size, as are SNG Copenhagen, SNG Von Aulock, and many other SNG titles. Here is the pic of my bookshelf with my SNG titles, (top right).

Chris, do you have your library organized by anything other than, "wherever it fits?"

My wife's a librarian and that's what she does with her (personal) collection.......

We don't all have the luxury of multiple large shelves. :D

Well this is half of my "good" bookshelves. You can see the second row down is all BM books. I try as much as possible to group, with the caveat that book height can affect that. On the other shelf I have all DO volumes together, and the shorter shelf below many other Byzantine titles save Sear who is part of the "Sear group", and the World of Numismatic title which is with that set.

It is tough, especially when some titles like SNG's are taller than normal. Its always a work in progress, but its fairly well laid out. I usually know where a title is, unless its something odd like Axumite coinage or similar. Never know where to place those one off titles really. This mess is a little more organized now. I have added about 40 or so books since this photo was taken, so removed more of the "history" books and sadly had to take them down to the "bookshelf of shame" in the basement, and reorganized some more.

Well, Meshorer's Qedem 3 finally arrived in the post today. I've definitely got my reading cut out for me. :thumb:
