I was cleaning the house and picked up some change off the table. It was 2 dimes and a quarter. When I slid them off into my hand I noticed that the quarter had a completely different sound than normal. I did some research and found that there is a known error for some silver coins to have slipped out in 1965. However the edge does have a little bit of a copper color to it. Is it possible that I have came across one of these coins? And if so how much may it be worth? These are the photos I have taken with my phone.

If you see copper on the edge, then unfortuantely there is no chance it is a silver quarter.

No. Spend it. It is a normal 1965 quarter and is worth 25 cents.

Thanks for all of your help!! I didnt think it could with the copper but I figured it was worth a try. Is there any other reason it would sound so much different than a regular quarter?

Why does this particular quarter with this particular year look and sound like silver?

What is an OP? If it's Original Post, then no I am not. I just have a lot of those 1965 quarters that look and sound like silver!

You guys do realize you are asking someone who has posted a total of 3 posts from 2011 questions on this thread right?

It was probably used in a vending machine a long time ago.

Don't you just hate it when that happens? I think CT should create a different color background (maybe beige or light blue) for any thread that has been resurrected when there has been no posts for 6 months or so.
