Dime error

    Hi, found a dime with a flaw in it, and was wondering if anyone has ever seen anything like it. Here's a picture of it... DSC00086.jpg

    Solder. It was once used as a piece of jewelry. Your coin is damaged.

    Oh, I hadn't thought of that...if it's solder it should melt easily.
    Thanks for the heads up, I'll check it right now.

    Rick, I just tried melting it, and the soldering gun didn't even begin to melt it. Any other thoughts on it?

    By the way thanks for responding...it's not my dime it was found by my 13 year old son...he likes to go through my change can, which is where he found it.

    Boy that would be one odd die break if it turned out to be something like that instead of PMD.

    maybe a tig weld idk that might melt the coin just throwing ideas out there
