Anoob was kind enough to send me some coins last week and there is one that I am having problems pinning down. It is a small AE-15 of one of the Ptolmey's labeled as Ake-Ptolemais from Phoenicia. But I haven't been able to locate which Ptolmey it is. .
i've been doing some seleuklid shopping, that may be antiochos viii....wavy hair, no beard....seems like the ptolemy ii and iii coins have a bearded zeus on the obverse....could very well be wrong however.
Problem is, they all look alike, except for small details, so unless the coin is in pretty decent shape, it will be difficult to ID... If you got the time, check here http://www.megagem.com/ancient/ptolemy_series.html
Thanks for the link. The obverse seems to be a match for SV-239 though the reverse is a little different.
I spotted the Svoronos 239 too... But unless in decent grade, these coins are very hard to ID correct...
