Hello everyone, I thought I would share some of my finds at CICF. Top to bottom: Titus gold aureus, Luristan dagger, c. 1200 B.C. and 5 oil lamps. I also came back with a bunch of coins for my vcoins store. Was a great show and I had a wonderful time!

Great finds. Love the Aureus. Maybe some day I'll buy gold, but probably not. For the cost of one gold coin, I can acquire a bunch of silver and even more bronze. But I can admire from afar.

BTW, I read your profile. My youngest has his doctorate in Political Science. Good luck.

Good stuff. COS VII dates that aureus to 79, the year Mt. Vesuvius erupted and destroyed Pompeii.

Love the Aureus and the Dagger...

I'm not sure which I prefer!

I don't mean to cast a pallor of apocalyptic doom on your thread, but this artist's depiction always gives me the shivers...

Well, for the price of the aureus you could buy 7 or 8 daggers :). Very neat rendition!
