Going to the DC in December

I'll be back east in December.

My plan was to have my mom drop a few rolls of "D" quarters into circulation. And of course, I was going to pick up some "P" coins to bring back west. Anyone have any demonination requests besides quarters for me to put into circulation? Might just have to go up to the Philly mint and drop some Denver coins into circulation up there. HAHA!

I will also be consolidating my coin collection. Hopefully, I'll have my PCGS submissions back and can have ALL of my coins together, finally. My IHCs are getting a new Intercept Shield Album as well.

Are there going to be any coin shows around December 25th? I know I am going to miss the Fairfax NOVACC Coin Show. =\

I used to work in DC, and I seem to remember that the Mint had a store at the shopping center in Union Station. Might want to try there.

 

It's still there.The only problem is that they don't sell commemoratives so there's no "sneaking ahead in the line" involved.I usually buy my mint,proof sets & ASE's there.Here's some photos from last year.
Vroomer..I'll be going to the NOVA show probably on that Saturday.Too bad you can't make it.

 

NOVA is Northern Virginia Community College at the Annandale ,VA campus.They have a couple of shows every year,July and December.

Any decent coin dealers in NOVA? Or you want to have a little Coin Talk impromptu gathering somewhere?

 

My dad and mom are going to start their day there tomorrow. It's their wedding aniversary and what a great way to spend it, at the NOVA coin show.

After that, my mom just wants to have lunch at Chick-Fil-A.

I just know my dad's going to get overwhelmed, again. Especially since I said I wanted Full Head Standing Liberty Quarters... and he has 0 experience with SLQs...

when I go to my coin dealer out here, he always asks, "What seems interesting to you today?" I tell him if I have my checkbook or not. and we go from there. Yesterday I purchased some supplies, the Rd Book on Morgans, and a "Walking Liberty starter set" for my dad.

I have about 4 rolls of "D" statehood quarters and I will be spending them all around town. I'll post a list of where I spent them when I get there.
