    Hi everyone,
could you help me with this coin? I looked up the three types of serif mint marks, but I am still having hard time deciding which kind is. I took several photos of it. This is the best I could do.
    Thank you.

Doesn't look like it. It's the typical ball serif "S" orientation, but probably damaged. The flat trailing edge on the tail and the "corners" inside the lower loop (both of which are clear in the first photo) show that it is right side up.

Ok, thank you for your reply. Do you have any thoughts what could have caused the damage? It is pretty shiny, not too much wear on it.

Definitely not the IMM. Your coin also appears that it may have been plated at some point. Either that, or heavy circulation damage.
    Keep up the hunt!

I am sorry, I still have very little knowledge about coins. I just started to collect them a month ago. May I ask you to explain what do you mean by saying "may have been plated at some point"?
    Thank you.

Someone may have done a little "science experiment" on it, by adding another layer of metal onto it outside of the mint.

Thanks for keeping me grounded or else I would fly away from joy, thinking I have a valuable coin. :)
I appreciate your comments, thank you.
