I have taken better pictures of small objects with an iPhone camera (8 megapixel), no lens. I believe it is not getting enough light and that it isn't stable enough.... To fix this, make a holder for the camera (tape and three books is an easy way to make this) and a little more light. Hope this helps!

If you have a 14 MP camera, it should be crystal clear. Make sure that you are in macro or close-up mode (usually a flower icon) and then stabilize the coin and/or camera and give it some indirect light. No one can tell you anything with that blur.
