Also recently added to my collection is this 1889 Proof 3 cent Nickel NGC/CAC PF-66. The toning is delicate and beautiful. The toning on the reverse has the appearance of a gorgeous sunset.

You are putting together a very impressive collection! I don't remember if you answered me last time, but were you in fact attempting a Proof type set or perhaps a "box of 10/20/40" concept of high grade proofs?

You're really making a name for yourself WF, a good name at that! Stunning 3 center.

My apologies for not answering your question. I find myself easily sidetracked and pulled in multiple directions. As of the moment I really dont have a plan or want list per se. This is something which I am currently investigating, the direction that my collection will be going in as I move forward. I have been spending the better part of the last 3 weeks reading and looking at old auction catalogs as I am contemplating the possibility of moving in the direction of collecting patterns. I am fortunate to have some excellent resources here on CT and some VERY knowledgeable and honest dealers who are working with me to help provide some direction and assistance. The main reason for the move to Patterns would be the notion of absolute rarity which is something that, IMHO, is and will continue to be a source of increasing prices. There are currently some very nice Patterns that in my opinion are heavily undervalued. I would encourage others who are interested to do some research of their own and if anyone would like some additional info feel free to PM me.
