May start a Norway collection

  1. Hi all,
as some may know I collect Icelandic coins. With the help from 2 fellow members here on CT (Iceman and Siggi), I probably have one of the nicest Icelandic collections out there. I continue upgrading this collection all the time. Anyway, I'm thinking about starting a Norway collection next, (don't tell Siggi, he may never speak to me again LOL). I'm a big viking and overall history nut. I'm looking for a little inspiration on this. If you have any really nice Norwegian coin photos please post away! I'll start with the only Norwegian coin I have. If you have any pointers feel free to let me know.

    Thanks in Advance

I don't know how to break this to you, but the 2 ore is Swedish.

  6. I do have a question, does anyone know why norwegian coins tone so nicely? If you look at the 5 Ore, you'll notice a faint blue toning which is even on both sides of the coin. It almost gives the coin a "silky" apperance. I've have noticed this toning on many other norwegian coins as well. Any input would be great Thanks Again for your time!
