Just picked these up and did a little bit of e-bay scanning before I bid. Paid £55 for all three coins, hope I did OK. Please let me know.....thanks, Marbury

Good price but I don't quite like the 1891 ruble. What's the weight of this coin?

Definitely good price, the 1891 ruble needs better photos, the rim/edge doesn't look right, at least from this angle.

Auction house will check rim for me and I agree it does not look right....if problematic they said i don't have to pay.....marbury

Reason why I'm saying this is because there are known counterfeits of the Alexander III ruble. I unfortunately got hit by one - seller tried to pass it on me but I stuck to my case.

Can you tell me what it should weigh so I can tell the auction house.and is it just the rim that is the give away?

    50 kopeks - 9,998 g.
    One rouble - 19,996 g.

I think the 50 Kopeks in that grade is pretty worthless so just want the AH to focus on the 1891 Rouble. So do I look for a line along the rim to prove fake?

The 50 looks alright, but it doesn't mean its real.

Its not just the line on 1891, its the fact its missing edge lettering. I can't see any.

The 1913 also kind of weird, needs better edge and rim photos.

Apparently bith do have lettering on the rims and the auction house if going to send them to me before taking payment so an authority on here can tell me if they are ok or not. i will post plenty of new scans shortly.

Don't know why, but edge lettering looks a bit weird. Can't see anything else wrong from these photos. Make sure the weight is correct, if you get 18.2 g., you`re in trouble.

Seems they went through some extensive cleaning. Coins are showing wear, but the edge letters are absolutely clean, no dirt inside them, as if they were struck today.

19.8 and 19.5 they probably were cleaned but at that price and it appears they are real I must have done well.

Knowing they`re authentic I would have gladly purchased them, so yeah, good buy.
