This is a coin I found among a group of coins I purchased from a coin dealer out of his bulk foreign coins bin. I'm not sure if this is a coin or a token. I can't read Chinese but haven't been able to identify any date printed on it. It does have a couple of English words though "Copper - Coin". Appreciate any ideas or suggestions. Regards, Bill
It is a coin, Chinese empire, 10 cash 1909 part of the Y20 series looks like Y20. There is no provincial mint indication in the center of the obverse so it is probably a general issue and not provincial.
Thank you so much. I was leaning toward a token, but you set me straight. I am trying to collect the whole world, and Its very interesting to learn about the countries and their history/culture, but also very difficult to classify every coin, especially from those countries which have writing that is so different from my native (American) English. I am beginning to be able to read the dates and numbers from many modern coins from Asian countries, but the older ones really stump me sometimes. Again, thank you so much. Regards, Bill
