Since the old thread for this topic is getting old, and has 1,000 posts, lets start again. What have you found in your change or in your searching of rolls? I recently got some 1/2 dollars and found: 11 1964 JFK 1/2's and 13 clad silver halves: 1965= 3, 1966= 2; 1967= 3; 1968D = 4; 1969D =1.
in three rolls of half, I found one 1978-S proof ( I would say proof 50) and one 2003-d. So far that's 4 proofs from circulation for me in a few boxes of halfs.

out of the 25 cent rolls I got from my dealer I got: 6 Rolls worth of 1959 and 1960 10 Rolls of 1950 wheat cents and the rest were 1949 and older cents Nothing older than 1919
I got a 1926 wheatie today in change, and over the past couple days I've gotten 3 common dates. (1950s)
I got a $50 bag of cents from the bank. I found 19 Canadian cents, 1901 Indian Head, 15 Wheat Backs (Oldest was 1920), 1976 cent counterstamped with the liberty bell and an outline of the United States, 1991-P Roosevelt Dime, and a German 2 Pfennig.
Some really nice finds out there. Lets keep going. In a box of $25 in cents I can usually find about 10 wheaties. Rarely more. Sometimes tho, if you get privately wrapped rolls you will find extra coins.
I still get about 5-10 wheaties per box, all common dates, the average rarely varies. Finally hunted down 10 rolls of halves, 1-1968, 2-1967. Searched a box of nickels, one 1944-S in Fine, that was the most interesting find of the past two weeks.
Reading the roll searching thread sparked my interest this year, so I began getting $100 worth of halves a month starting this june. I dont keep records, but my low was 1 on silver clad, high was 9. The silver is nice, but what really impressed me was how many AU/BU coins I find, for all years. I have roll containers for all years, and filling them up rapidly. I also found 2 proof coins so far, in AU/BU condition, with most passing for BU, markless w/o rub. I must say, its another way to get a treasure hunting fix, other than metal detecting or getting a good buy at an auction. I have a side story about an estate auction I went to recently. When the rolls came up, there was so many, nobody had the time to look through them all, so some blind bidding went on. I had won a bid for choice pick out of three JFK rolls, and luck for me, one was all 65 SMS in BU, got it for $30. My friend bid $80 on a roll of common date silver quarters, turned out to be a BU roll of 40-D's, that roll goes for about $2K, boy was he happy.
TallPaul: "one was all 65 SMS in BU, got it for $30. My friend bid $80 on a roll of common date silver quarters, turned out to be a BU roll of 40-D's, that roll goes for about $2K, boy was he happy." Wow you both did great! I wish that I had been there.
Went through about $1600 in halves today, nothing too remarkable except for two 40% silver 1976-S halves- my first ones!
I found an EF 1935 silver US quarter in my change. It's rare to find a silver coin that old circulating.

If that was the one at Brookhurst & Garfieldl you were less than half a mile from my house (and a few miles from most of the valuable coins in my collection ).
No, it was the one on Warner near Brookhurst across the street from the Sam's Club (a mile from where I live). But I have been to the one on Brookhurst and Garfield!
