    hey all,

I've been talking to this seller for a couple days now and just want some over all opinions on this dollar and if you think $325 would be worth it?

    thanks

Why is there a sticker covering up the slab number printed on the insert? I would ask to see a pic of the actual insert, then run that number through verification.

Also, why is the space at the bottom of the slab, between the prongs, not circular? I have PCGS slabs with three-prong holders and they don't look like that. They are perfectly circular. Or is it a slab style I'm unfamiliar with?

I'd say no unless they remove the sticker covering the insert..

I don't know enough about slab variations to call that slab fishy, but all of my 3-prong holders are symmetrical, like this...

that slab is kinda odd looking. something about it just doesn't look right

I would not buy the coin, as it looks questionable. First, there is no available way to verify certification, with the slab covered with the sticker. Second, the coin looks cleaned to me. Third, the slab doesn't look right--there are many counterfeit PCGS slabs.

It could be that the insert was put in a little crooked , that said I've never seen that color difference between the slab and the insert that holds the coin . Sure would like to see the certification # . The coin looks ok from the little I can see though.

I don't like the eye appeal of the piece, but others might.

It is completely up to you if you like the coin. My September 2012 GreySheet states $210 in EF, $270 in AU50, and $875 in MS60. The prices are the same for 77S & 78S. I don't collect the Trade dollar series and do not know if the GreySheet truly reflects the market for the series.

If you like something about the coin then get it. If you don't like something about the coin then don't get it.

BTW, there is one thing that is unusually nice about the coin. It may be one of the few surviving EF examples that hasn't been chopped or cleaned. :D

Of course, you could check the TPGs for populations in trouble-free EF.

Well on top of no wanting to pay that much and ya'lls concerns, I think I'll pass.
