other then the site at this link "There are three 'better dates' in this series of coins. If you can find a 1956D or a 1958F 5 mark, these catalog around $150 in well preserved condition. Finally, a 1958G is quite rare, tipping the scales at $2500 well preserved." i just realized after helping some one else that i have a 1958g german 5 mark the mintage is low ( 1,557,000)i already knew that but i cant find that quoted price any where http://www.coinquest.com/cgi-bin/cq/coins?main_coin=6631
That valuation is far from accurate... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Silver-5-Ma...5590581?pt=US_World_Coins&hash=item589e7502b5
yeah i seen that well in krause it jumps from vf $7.50 to xf $28 any ideal how to grade one of these. also on that website i guess its a 1958j that is 2500 and 1100 in vf
Right, the 1958 J is the one that is quite expensive in high grades. 1958 F is also somewhat expensive, but at one fifth to one tenth of what sellers want and get for the Hamburg/J piece ... Christian
