there's a rust spot where the 3 is supposed to be. what i can see it really doesn't look like it was ground off but not sure. the 4 is not there at all. in pics can't really see the S. any ideas?
It is rather common for date to have a partial or missing 4, and same with the 3 but to a lesser extent. Considering the apparent condition of the coin, is it possible that it started out with only a partial date, and has since corroded.
