Would you grade this as MS63 or MS64, if that was your only choice? The reverse is very nice, as is (almost) usual. This is the only picture I have.

    Thanks for any replies!

My first impression is a 63 because of the marks in the obverse field in front of Liberty's nose.

Looks better than most 63's I've seen, but I do not fall into the "Morgan Gurus" camp.

That scratch running down the field on the obverse may or may not be the deciding factor based on how obvious it is in hand (although it appears to be quite visible). Although, the cheek is clean, so I would guess MS-64 but a picture of the reverse would help but considering that's the only photograph you have oh well.

Since we don't have a photo of the reverse, I'll say it's MS31-1/2.

There's a big jump in price between 63 and 64 - not sure if that is taken into account when grading?

After seeing the picture of the reverse I will stick with MS 63-64 (depending on how much they took off for that mark in the field)

Yes, could definitely agree with that--high end 62 to very low end 63. NO shot at 64 due to the mark. Otherwise, it is a solid 64 or 64+, but that one mark kills the shot at any grade above 63, IMHO. It is just too prominent.

Yeah, that isn't a bad crowd. It is in that ballpark. Not any higher, in my opinion.

I'm going to say MS62 on this one. Maybe a 63 on a good day...but not any higher.

Doc, I agree with you, but I will hedge my bets. MS 62.5. I think it is a 62 in my opinion, but it could go either way.

My guess is 62. I wouldn't even say 62+, as I've concluded that the plus is used only for eye appeal... And since the gouge is bringing it down to 62, eye appeal can't be higher than that.

Well this is why I'm not applying for a coin grading position. It's in an OGH at MS63. Guess this is not an upgrade candidate!
