I thought the elephant reverse looked pretty sharp on this coin, so I snagged it!!

Ummm, I'm not sure why the coins in my original post don't zoom-out when you put your cursor over-top of them? (so I've posted a second photo ... hopefully it'll do the trick?)

... *rats* ... it doesn't work either? (what do I need to do to make these babies "zoom-out")

Did you post an image larger than what shows? The zoom feature only expands up to the original size you posted; it does not enlarge. This is a very nice coin.

Jerry, you're back at it again. Making me jealous that is. Very nice looking coin. Great elephant with tusks, but what is that beneath the belly of the elephant?

Nice one. If anyone is really into these, there is a large lot of similar on CNG closing this week. Most are not as nice as this one though. Great details Steve.

    Bloody Great Coin, Steve!

Another elephant... maybe you should make a thread with one example of each animal in your collection on ancient coins ;) :D

Thanks Doug, I always feel flattered when you like my purchases ... yessss!!!

=> oh, and you're correct => the image was quite small, so I was unable to make it "grander" (more grand?) ... oh well, it is still a good enough photo.

I really like these bronzes. I think they are very unique looking, the "bottle cap" flan is very cool, I think everyone likes that. The radiant portrait is absolutely complimented by the wonderful patina. The elephant is clear and very well executed. The seleucids at one point really had the monopoly on good engravers. The king's silver tetradrachms are also quite impressive as well. Like always the X6 collection is quite PHAT for lack of a better term.
