Apparently the 5 star general proofs were made by 2 different processes a new laser process and the old traditional process. The mint claims no traditional process coins were sold to collectors. Can the collectors who already have these check their coins to make sure. The details on the frosted part of the coins should be a dead giveaway. Thanks

I saw the $1 proof which has a variety of finishes, like what is projected for the 2013 ASE W-set. Beautifully done and NOT traditional.

Both the half dollar and silver dollar I received yesterday are laser-frosted, the silver dollar seems a bit less so on the obverse portraits.

Didn't the frosted stripes in the field behind the portraits appear to have a different finish than on the portraits themselves?

Yes, the stripes on the obverse and the semi-circle on the reverse have the more grainy laser frost, more than the portraits.
