I think I see a S over D (or vice-versa). However all my searches end up nowhere. I am able to zoom my own pics making it much easier to see mint mark. Can anyone else see it or have any info they could share? Many thanks!
You need to provide a better close-up of the mint mark, but my gut reaction is that the "D" is just smashed a bit or it's a die chip. Chris
that's a filled mint mark, not an S. The San Francisco Mint was not making coins from 1956-1968 and although the Assay Office there may have struck a few coins, none of them bore an "S" mintmark
I cropped the same pic hoping it will help a little. I will have to get a better pic tomorrow. thanks for the quick reply.
