I have spoken with mint personnel twice regarding my order for the 20'th Anniversary 3-Coin Silver Eagle Set with the reverse proof. I am told the set "shipped" on 10/30/06; however I have yet to receive it. Word from Mint Personnel (2 different) is that it could take 2 to 3 weeks to arrive. Well, they have already deducted the charge from my credit card, and it has never taken this long to receive an order once that has happened with notice of shipment received. Anybody else had the same delays? They said it could not be researched as "lost" until after 30 days had passed. I'm concerned because those sets have already doubled in price, I'm told.
Don't Worry Be Happy I won't worry to much just yet about not receiving your set. The Mint does not mail/send their products. They come from the "Fullfilment Center" nearest you. It's like a warehouse/shipping center. Depending on how backed up they are there will depend on when you get your coins. If they have processed your purchase they should be on the way. I personally have not had any problems getting my orders. I have ordered quite a bit in the last few years.
oh my, I ordered mine on 8/31 and finally on 11/17 got a notice that my first order has been shippped . looks like i have that to look forward to. I think the silver eagle sets have been a much over looked coin set. following the Ben Franklin commens . the Buffalos and the anniversary gold sets, it is the silver time to shine. Believe in a few years , we will have a hard time believing that these "cheap sets" were issued at $100 bucks
Thanks for the info! I discovered my Fullfilment Center is in Memphis, TN. Maybe they're backed up like you said, and will be here soon. Sure hope so!
I would be concerned. If I were you I would be on the phone on November 29th at 8AM to insist they immediately begin their research. You should also notify your credit card company in writing. I feel for you. As for doubling in value, a dealer friend of mine said that wholesale was $215 for the $100 set and that was a week or so ago.
It true,i already had 2 sets ,i got a 100. so i bought aother one, the other day, and it cost mr 200. lol. ERG. As for the mint. I have waited as long as 6 months for an order from the mint. But on the other side of that, the shortest time for me to get an order once was 3 days. You should call on the 29th and say. Hey man wheres m 3 dollars.
Mine shipped 10/30/06 too. I got them yesterday. It's still way to early to panic....take a nice deep breath, and
Guys, Guys, they don't mail them, they Fedex them and you have to sign for them when they arrive. It is a max waiting time of about a couple of days. You should have them by now and you should be able to track them through Fedex if they've been sent. I guess, and I'm gonna go out on a limb here, the mint personnel don't have any idea of what they are talking about. I received mine last week and only this week got a ship confirm notice. The mint is inept-big surprise!
Not always correct, as I have a tracking # from the USPS for mine, and other coins I've had come from them have come USPS, though some have come FedEx.
They did NOT Fedex my coins, they sent them USPS and they were sitting in my mailbox when I got home from work yesterday. No signature needed. People, please remember they have 250,000 of these to ship. Now add in the proof sets, the commems etc., etc., etc. I know it's hard to wait for them, but repeatedly calling them is not going to get them to you any sooner. The people you are talking to are NOT in the shipping department. Now take 2 deep breaths....
A question here. Do they have to ship all of these sets out by the end of the year. just kind of curious
ordered 3 sets usps and after forever geting my order straight they shipped to p.o. box . let me change that , said they were going to ship to a p.o. box. I requested this as i move around so much at work it is almost impossible for me to be at one place at any given time to sign for these things. Have 4 more sets that suppose to come later at the p.o. box you have to request it ( postal , usps) It was so funny first time i order it was free shipping , then later is was $4.95 then it was something like $7.95 now the set i am suppose to recieve has a $4.95 and the one later is free. I do not care just send me the things
Shipped yesterday. Breathing easier now, Xmas is just around the corner and since I ordered these sets as gifts, I was getting a little worried. Now if the SF Mint commem. and the "W" ASE's get here the year will be complete.
I ordered one the first day, said it shipped on 10/27. Just got it today. So if you haven't seen your set yet, don't worry, it'll be there. I also ordered another one a few days later. Got the shipping confirmation on that one today too. Probably see it late December if the speed the first one came was any indication.
There is NO rhyme or reason as to whether the US Mint ships your coins by USPS or FedEx,despite what anyone thinks.I have never opted for expedited delivery OR ordered more than one set of anything and I have received them by both carriers randomly. The best example is the First in Flight commems.I ordered ONE 50 cent UNC from them and it arrived by FedEx.My one set of Anniversary Siver Eagles has just been shipped and the tracking number is 11 digits which is FedEx.USPS tracking numbers are 22 digits.I will say though that 80% of my orders come through the mail.
I have to admit that I may be wrong about my 20th anniversary ASE set.The tracking number is 11 digits but the Mint says it was shipped via USPS Parcel Post, not FedEx.My apologies to ND86.We'll see how it actually comes though, should be tomorrow or Wednesday. On another note, the Mint never charged my account for the $104.95 but today I saw a charge for the SF Mint UNC dollar of $33.The $104 DID appear for a day and then disappeared.Someone there is messing up but I have no doubt they'll get my $$$ eventually.
