I purchased this from the Penny Lady {Charmy} I met her at the Baltimore show and saw this in her case. I was looking for another example for my type set as I have a 1858 for the set. Must say this coin caught my eye first and it was the first coin I looked at from her case. I was short on time so I passed on it. Then after pricing a few and remembering the quality of this coin I PM Charmy and made the purchase. I'm very happy with the detail of this coin even thro it has an issue..... As I do not plan to sell her I am not concerned about the issue. I will say this thro I very seldom buy any coins with issues be it a ding or cleaning. A penny for your thoughts......
Cool coin - but get some more pics. I can't really see what's going on with the reverse but I like your coin. I'm itching to get a FE.
I normaly use natural light to image with both my scope and my Nikon at 8 pm EST lighting in my office is really not the best to shoot anything unless you use a flash and I never use a flash on coins. The coin is a nice natural color and the detail really stood out in her case at the show....that's why I contacted her and made the purchase.
Nice pick up Paddy , has some nice detail to it . I'm sure the color is great in hand as Charmy usually has only quality coins . I'm still looking for my FE cent with the right price to condition ratio .
Charmy's good people. I saw her at Boston in 2010 and in Orlando 2011. I picked a real nice Indian Head cent up from her just for the 'FUN' of it. It was graded '64 but she was quick to point out the flaw......a finger print which didn't seem at all too 'finger printish to me. That was all after the fact that I had asked her if she had any 'raw' Flying Eagles with her. The answer was no. I've still got to get one of these pieces and I'd say, issue or not, you did just fine Paddy.
Thanks Ken I am very pleased with the purchase ...you know when you walk up to a case and a coin hits you...Ya just know you need to own it ...this one almost got away...however thro besides Bill {AKA PG} looks as if I'll need to put Charmy on the cookie list come November Baltimore coin show....
