    I'm thinking the coin took a hit or there is isolated machine doubling. It does not look like an RPM.

    I agree with non_cents. It does look like damage to me. I might begin to say otherwise if the coin wasn't damaged all around as it is.

    I don't think damage can do something like that anyway. There is space between P... interesting. Just add another zoom pic.

    Thanks for the extra pics.
    Look at the way that the doubling is flat and shelf-like. That is indicative of machine doubling or damage. It also "takes away" from the design rather than adding to it...another sign of a non-RPM coin.
