You can compare it OP to this 1942 Proof Jefferson. DSCN4868.jpg DSCN4869.jpg DSCN4870.jpg

Paddy, I am having difficulty seeing the reverse doubling. Class II would show a spread towards the rim, and class VI would show as extra thickness. I'm not seeing much of a difference in the 2 coins posted. Could you tell me where you see the doubling?
Also keep in mind that a coin may have a die marker (or a PUP as you say), but may not have the doubling, such as the 1909P-1DO-002 for example.

Could you also provide a link (preferably with pictures) of the DDR Wexler lists? I can't seem to find any info for it.

If I can find time tomorrow I'll pull the coin from the vault and re image it using the scope. Link The best of the Jefferson Nickel double die varieties 2nd ed Wexler Ribar Page 45 has the images of this variety. This coin was cherry picked off e bay about 7 years ago...as the seller did not know that they had a rare WDDR.

:thumb:I have to agree!!! Paddy a Homerun!!
Paddy I been at 56yrs I can't say expert as so many coin have been minted.A new variety or type is found and at times Miss-graded by a Tpg. No 1 perfect/expert if thing about the larger picture.

Paddy, only a collector would find that. Nice find. The thing about the TPGs is you have to pay them extra when you need them to put their thinking caps on; otherwise, they're just going to market grade.

Its been so long now but Pcgs + Ngc form for grading did not have Details box till around 1990-1993 or that maybe just the Free Bee 3-5 for joining form???
I know there was a different form for Ngc+Pcgs certified shops to submit your coins.I think Anacs was the only 1 that has had detail box on there form.
