While up to see my parents a week ago we killed some time by first going to Andy's Coin shop in Solon Iowa and then to the local honkey tonk for a beer. What a pleasant experiance going into the coin shop. First of all I wondered if I was in the right place. It was in a small office building with a couple of other businesses. Once in there I knew I was in the right spot. He had a great selection and reasonably priced. My Dad and brother sat down and visited with Andy while I looked around. Got some nice picks and had a great time. I guess the moral of the story is when traveling, try and get in a local coin shop.
Nice. I will be honest I have never heard of the shop, (nor Solon Iowa, where in the state is that?). I am glad you found a nice shop. Many times in small towns like that they advertise it as a coin shop, but they never have anything for sale. They are simply buyers who wholesale out anything they can buy locally.
Cool story texmech - I'm about to do the same thing where I'm at. And that's quite an avatar you've got there!
