It's a great day when you go to count the safe deposits and these fall out of the envelopes. My cashier didnt even know what they were so just threw them in the safe. It's sad how desperate people can be when you could get a whole lot more than $2 bucks worth of gas in melt value alone. But hey, how often can we say we got morgan's at face value in 2013.
We have a $10 bill from the 1930s in our safe at work. My boss thinks it's counterfeit and won't let me have it. Nice find.
Wow! Those Morgans were quite a score! Obviously spent by someone who either didn't know or just didn't care.
WOW....great scores! Yes, sadly, they were probably taken from Grandma's stash and spent by an idiot.
Several months ago I was sorting through some loose change here at a local business I work with. In the container was a roll of dimes that paid for car washing. Turned out to be a roll of Merc's.
It is unfortunate how some of us in retail come across these deals and who might have lost these from their collection with no way of ever finding them again. Im waiting for the day I come across a full roll of silver quarters or dimes, heck id be happy to run into a full roll of war nickels. Wish I could get a roll of mercs. Were they in good condition?
The customer probably didn't know or care what they were offering up as payment. They were all well worn but still worth up to 20x face. After sorting through about $1K of small loose change, it was pretty surprising to unroll this:
Some customers will bring their silver and coins in to me, i feel like I should open up a shop. I tell them when they are broke bring me silver and ill make sure they get beer and cigs haha
