picked this up off one of my cashiers for $5 so either way its a win in my books. not the greatest photos, im trying to figure out how to get a good up close shot.
I don't have a Cherrypicker's Guide, but the one listed in it (CONECA RPM-003 - #FS-25-1964D-501) is a D/D East. If you have one check it out. I can't find any online pics anywhere.
Seeing as how the mintmark appears to be smaller than it should, I would be inclined to say MD ir a coincidental hit. Keep up the hunt!
MD or Damage No Way! that is a RPM#3. I may not be an Expert but 56yrs of coin collecting I did learn a lot RPM/DDO + DDR coins here the link your photo should be @ I would post them but that is breaking the CT rules as its a Copyright issue.:kewl:http://www.conecaonline.org/articles.html
I am not an expert either, I was just noting what I saw. FWIW, I hope that I am wrong and that indeed it is an RPM.
Is the D in DOLLAR doubled as well? I'm on my phone so I'm not sure if its a good pic or not. To me it looks doubled as well and if so, I would think MD.
If you compare this mintmark to a normal D mintmark on a 1964-D quarter, you will find that this one appears smaller. I looked in the CPG and found that the mintmarks were significantly larger.
Dv are on the left side of the pg. The pg the pg should go to green Then you have to go thru 1c thru 1.00. It sounds hard but once your on the green pages its easy. no cents since mint marks were hand punched. Operators have 2-3 mint Mark punches 1 was for The half dime thru quarter second was for half dollar thru dollars. Then 1900 and the Ihc + Lincoln cent came out . Then one more punch was added for The 1c. By 1904 there was three punches again the mint retooled. Went back to two mint Mark. That is why half Dime thru Morgan dollar have mint Mark die variety. I am no expert just have the I am nob book we used before the internet . I hope is written right.I had to do this on my cell phone. As my att internet line is down. So one may have hit a main line.its raining bad in north Alabama.
I know how to use the master listings, but there isn't a pic of the 64-D RPM-003. There is only RPM-006 and it is a North spread.
