I recently (yesterday) recieved a mailing from the US Mint to participate in a survey/ Lots of the survey was pretty routine stuff but there were some questions relating to the Presidential coins and Platinum anniversery series for next year. Has anyone else recieved this letter and been asked to participate in the survey. I was just curious....
I did a couple months ago. They inquired about interest in seeing a multitude of new options including $5,$10,$25 Buffalo gold coins as well as the $50 option. They also asked about "mint mark sets" with 1/10th ounce coins from each of the mint facilities. I cant remember if they were Buffaloes or gold or platinum Eagles. From the sound of it they have quite a few new options in the pipeline to capture ever increasing amounts of collector/speculator dollars. Should be interesting to see what comes to market. It seems that, depending on investor interest and disposable collector income, it could create some modern rarities.
Sounds interesting. I didn't know they did that. It will be cool to see what they come up with. I wish they would send a survey to me...I've got a few things in mind.
I just got my letter in the mail about the surver. I thought I would check on here before doing the survey. Says it would take about 20 mins to do so it should be interesting atleast.
Haven't received it but I've seen a copy of it. Most of it I don't care about but I did find the question about the Presidential dollars interesting, especially the ones gauging interest in silver versions of the dollar coins. Why are they asking about versions of coins that they can not legally produce without going back to Congress and getting new legislation? Especially since they probably could not get such legislation passed in time for the 2007 issues and probably not even before the 2008's are begun.
